Arghavan Almony, M.D.

Dr. Almony is a specialist of the retina and vitreous. Her specialty covers the treatment and surgery of diseases and disorders affecting the back of the eye, including diabetic eye disorders, macular degeneration, retinal detachments, and trauma to the eye.

Dr. Almony graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California in 2000. She received her medical degree from Keck School of Medicine, served her internship at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, and completed her residency at Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Washington University. Dr. Almony then received her highly specialized fellowship in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous from Barnes Retina Institute. She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Among Dr. Almony’s numerous honors includes the Heed Fellowship and the Bausch and Lomb Retina Fellows Forum Research Award.

Dr. Almony joined Carolina Eye Associates in 2012.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family or pursuing one of her hobbies: Photography and hiking.
