John W. French, M.D.
Dr. John French is a specialist in corneal and external diseases and small-incision cataract surgery. His specialty covers the medical treatment and surgery of diseases and disorders affecting the surface and front of the eye.
Dr. French received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina where he was inducted in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and graduated Valedictorian of his medical school class. He completed his residency at the Storm Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina where he received the ASCRS Foundation Resident Excellence Award and William W.Vallotton Award for Academic Excellence. Dr. French then received his highly specialized fellowship in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. French joined Carolina Eye Associates in 2012. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, skiing, and anything outdoors.
