Retina Specialist
Zeina Haddad, M.D., is a retina specialist, treating conditions and diseases of the vitreous body of the eye and the retina, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal detachment.
Dr. Haddad earned her medical degree from American University of Beirut in Lebanon where she made the Dean’s Honor List. She then completed her ophthalmic residency at both the American University of Beirut Medical Center in Lebanon and the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Va. In addition, she completed fellowships in both medical retina with the Joslin Diabetes Center, Boston, Mass. and surgical retina at the University of Virginia Health System.
A member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists, Dr. Haddad also received the Best Teacher Award for Ophthalmology at the University of Virginia Health System.
Dr. Haddad joined Carolina Eye Associates in 2015. She and her husband are the proud parents to daughters, Nayla and Nora, and son, John. In her spare time, Dr. Haddad enjoys traveling with her husband, exploring new cultures and enjoying good food. She also likes to exercise and go to the movies.
