For many people, having an elective vision correction or cosmetic procedure may be one of the most important decisions they’ll ever make. Financial considerations alone should not be an obstacle to benefiting from the lifetime of advantages these procedures can provide. There are many options available, and we invite you to explore the options on this page.
CareCredit
As a service to our patients, we are pleased to offer CareCredit, North America’s leading patient payment program. With CareCredit you can finance 100% of your procedure and there are no up-front costs, no annual fees, and no prepayment penalties. So you can begin your refractive, cosmetic, or elective procedure today and conveniently pay with low, monthly payments.
CareCredit offers several payment plans so you can find one that works best for you. With the popular no-interest payment plans there are no interest charges if you pay your balance in full within the specified time period. Carolina Eye Associates participates in the 6-12 month no-interest payment plans. Monthly payments can be as low as 3% of your balance. We also participate in CareCredit’s 24-, 36- and 48-month low-interest, low-monthly-payment financing plan for procedure fees from $1,000 to $25,000.
CareCredit can be used by the entire family for ongoing treatment without having to reapply. And by using CareCredit, you can save your other credit cards for household or unplanned expenses. It only takes a few minutes to apply for CareCredit and you’ll receive a decision in seconds! Click here for more information or to apply online now or call (800) 365-8295 for more information.
Other Options
Tax Deduction Benefit
In some cases, elective procedures can qualify as tax-deductible medical expenses. You may be able to deduct some or all of your fees, subject to the IRS guidelines covering medical expense deductions. Please consult your tax advisor regarding your situation.
Flexible Spending Plan
Many employers offer flexible spending accounts to help offset their employees’ medical expenses. Flexible spending accounts may allow you to set aside pretax dollars for certain medical costs, including elective procedures.
Medical Insurance
Medical and vision insurance plans may or may not cover portions of an elective procedure. If you have questions about your policy, please bring your insurance card when you come to the clinic for your next appointment and we will be glad to help you find the answers.
Health Savings Account (HSA)
Health Savings Accounts are combined with a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) to offer a more affordable approach to health care. Premiums for HDHPs are lower. HSAs have a tax-favored status, meaning that what you contribute is either pretax or tax-deductible. Interest earned on the money is tax-deferred. Using the money to pay for qualified medical expenses is tax-free.
