Intravitreal injections
An intravitreal (in-tra-VIT-re-al) injection is a procedure to place a medication directly into the space in the back of the eye called the vitreous cavity, which is filled with a jelly-like fluid called the vitreous humor gel. Intravitreal injections are an indispensable tool for our retina specialists to treat a variety of conditions. Diabetic Eye Disease and Age-Related Macular Degeneration and other eye diseases often respond well to eye injections. They can drastically improve a patient’s vision. Eye injections may sound scary. Please watch the video below of what to expect before and after your first eye injection.
